DigitaKids teaches touch typing: look at the screen and use the correct finger for each key.
1. Open the game
Click PLAY or open the Windows app. Choose New Game (or Continue if a save exists).
2. See the letter or word
The target appears in the center. Word levels may show a supporting picture.
3. Follow Finger Mapping
The virtual key and the matching finger light up. Use that finger — DigitaKids’ core teaching feature.
4. Home row
Left hand on ASDF, right on JKL, thumbs on space.
5. Score, WPM and phases
Correct keys add points; mistakes subtract a little. WPM starts on the first correct key. Five phases: alphabet → short words → medium → challenge → final phrase.
Tip for adults
10–20 minute sessions work well. Ask the child to watch the screen, not the keyboard. See For parents and For schools.
